On August 15, 2025 our organization proudly distributed school kits to 40 girls in South Kivu Province, Bykavu Town in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The kits included school bags, notebooks, pens, rulers, mathematical boxes, and school uniforms, ensuring that each girl has the essential tools to succeed in school.

At AVRD PGL, we believe that empowering girls through education is one of the most powerful ways to transform communities.

Results obtained

40 girls are now receiving full school support, ensuring their continued education.

60 young women are beginning professional training in sewing, giving them practical skills for economic independence and a brighter future.

Beyond the materials, we are also covering their full school fees for the 2025 academic year (ending in June 2026) so that these girls can continue their education without interruption.

This important initiative was made possible through the generous support of the Girls Opportunity Alliance, whose commitment to girls’ education and leadership continues to change lives.

Together, we are working to combat early marriage, protect girls’ rights, and promote girls’ and young women’s leadership in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By investing in girls, we invest in stronger families, resilient communities, and sustainable development.
