The celebration took place at Complexe Scolaire PESE and brought together beneficiaries of the project, including girls currently attending school, young women enrolled in professional training, and several parents who were invited to participate in this important community event.

During the celebration, a number of sensitization and awareness activities on girls’ leadership were organized. These activities aimed to encourage girls to believe in their potential, continue their education, and develop leadership skills that will enable them to positively influence their communities.

Celebrated every year on October 11, the International Day of the Girl highlights the importance of empowering girls and addressing the challenges they face around the world. Through initiatives like this, AVRD PGL continues to promote girls’ education, protection, and leadership, contributing to stronger families and more resilient communities.

Supported financially by the Girls Opportunity Alliance, AVRD PGL organized a special event to celebrate the International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2025 in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
